The goal of NKU is to create a new neighborhood and significant regional facilities. If successful, it will serve families in the North Kitsap community for generations to come. Regional-scale development is an incredibly complex undertaking and involves the coordination of numerous elements including land use, demand analysis, design, fundraising, financing, appeals, and other legal considerations.

The feasibility process itself does not involve public agency review and is being performed to test whether the concept itself is viable, assuming all the land use processes are successful. The land use process diagrams the steps from comprehensive plan application through project construction.

Please note, both processes have been simplified and do not include all steps involved. Timelines subject to change as project concept progresses.
